K.L.I.A or Subang Airport?

In July next year, I will start the job training for the first time. Job training is determines the level of my skill in repairing any damage to the aircraft and servicing of all aircraft components. This job training is one experience that I feel as an aircraft engineer will my fortune one day. Continued, the job training will be a period of 6 months equivalent to one semester involving courses that I took at the Malaysian Institute Of Aviation Technology (MIAT). As you all know, I take the Aircraft Maintenance Technology (Avionics), where I learned about aviation electronics involving electronic systems for use on aircraft, artificial satellites and spacecraft, comprising communications, navigation and the display and management of multiple systems. But I do not have any fixed choice of where I should do this occupational training.

Since I was a little child, I wanted to be a pilot but right now I have decided to learn about the aircraft first. So when I become a pilot, it become an extra advantage to me where I know how to repair and fix the aircraft. After I graduated here, I will seek to become a pilot under the wing of Malaysia Airlines. So, since my little dream of working at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA). I have always preferred KLIA to start my steps in the field of aviation. My dream plane is the Airbus A380 which is the largest commercial aircraft in the world. In early April 2012, Malaysia Airlines will receive their first A380 aircraft. So, that's the main reason I choose KLIA.

Last week, I asked my lecturer about this job training. I asked, "Sir, between KLIA and Subang Airport, which one is more suitable to do the training work?". My lecturer said, "is best, Subang Airport far better than KLIA because KLIA not have many facilities like workshops than SkyPark. KLIA now they've got a new build their own workshops. Right now, all aircraft maintenance been made in the hangar SkyPark. Moreover, the hangar at SkyPark not fit to bring in the A380 because of its size is too large. Because of that, all the A380 aircraft maintenance and services performed in the hangar at KLIA. My main mission was to see the A380 close with my own eyes.

The conclusion is which airport is good one for me. Either KLIA or SkyPark? If I choose KLIA, I can not make a lot of maintenance job because many here do not have a lot of maintenance workshop but the advantage I can see the world's largest airplane closely. Reverse happens if I choose SkyPark. I can draw a lot of experience in servicing the aircraft because here are many workshops that have been built, but hopes to see the A380 increasingly blurred. Both have advantages and disadvantages of each.

So right now, the first thing is I have to learn and asked more with my all lecturer and other references. I have to do many research to choose which one better for me to do the job training.
Thank you for your time.

  1. I was wondering why you mentioned Skypark instead of MAS MRO unless you're working as an avionics engineer for another company.
